Hello there! My name is Sharon Lazibyrd, welcome to my website. I am a folk singer-songwriter based in South Somerset. I have always loved music and enjoyed singing. Biography
Sharon Lazibyrd is a talented, original and award-winning singer- songwriter who
writes striking and melodic songs and makes music that matters. Her songs are
influenced by musicals, music hall and everything from Julian Cope to English folk.
Her debut solo album Half Shame and Half Glory was critically acclaimed and played
across independent and community radio, BBC folk and acoustic shows, BBC
Introducing and on BBC 6 Music. She was BBC Introducing Artist of the week. She
has performed across the UK and in Ireland including Glastonbury and
Tolpuddle. Her songs have been shortlisted in competitions, she has
recorded a session for Bob Harris, been championed by Tom Robinson, included in
the FATEA showcase sessions. She has supported Dave Swarbrick, Josienne
Clarke and Three Daft Monkeys and played at festivals from Dounne the Rabbit Hole
in Stirling to Sark. She is currently studying for a PhD using songwriting as a research method.
